| 17th Nov 06 - Just got back from Belper where we did the entertainment at a Birthday party. We really must say what a great night was had by the guests and us alike. The Queens Head is a very nice small venue (a room above the pub) and the guests were up and dancing from the word go. Terry (see our MySpace friends) who organised the gig for us is a real top bloke (as were his mates) and he's offered to try to organise some more dates for us around that area. | |
| 15th Dec 06 - Well we did the opening hour for The HotRods Last night and it was as enjoyable as ever. Roscoe crowd were on fine form, and the HotRods were the best we've seen them. Looking forward to doing a few more supports for them if we can get it organised between us. | |
| 13th October 06. Thanks to Rae Leeson for his help, We've got our MySpace site going. Much appreciated Rae. | |
Blues at the Fort - Sept 06
Fort Purbrook was built to keep out the French. What they hadn't counted on was the Dosch invasion. Set in a huge marquee in the grounds of the fort, this was a venue and a half. The thousand strong crowd inspired us to one of our finest performances yet, bringing tremendous feedback from the organisers and audience alike. With Dr. Feelgood and The Ben Waters Band also on the bill, this was a never to be forgotten weekend for us Dosch lads.
Full marks to the staff and organisers who had things running smoothly throughout - this is definitely the way to run a festival.

| New Barracks Music & Beer Festival
1st New Barrack Tavern Music & Beer Festival. (Bank holiday weekend)
By all accounts a great success, lots of people in for all three days. The new removable stage proved itself, and has turned The Barracks from a "good little music pub" into a proper venue. Surprisingly putting in the stage seems to have made more room rather than less.
The honour of opening the festival on the Friday night went of course to Sheffield legend Frank White who tells me he had a great night and loved the new stage.
We shared the 2nd night with the very excellent Fade2Black, and I don't think I've ever seen the place so full. The transition between bands was made easier than it might have been by the way F2B mucked in, sharing parts of their equipment with parts of ours. In a nutshell - great band, nice blokes. Go and see them.
I couldn't get to see the Sunday show but Kev & Steph of the Barracks tell me it went very well, and all in all things seem set to make it a regular event. |

| 22nd March 06 - As most people will now know, Darren has finally decided to leave in order to concentrate on his other life in Gypsy. He's been helping out 'till we got fixed up, and now we're pleased to announce the arrival of our new bass man, Richard Makinson. This guy really kicks ass in the true Dosch tradition, and we're aiming to 'roll him out' for the first time at the Birley (12th April) We're currently working on getting some info together to put on Richard's Bio page. I should have something up very soon. To all the fine bass players who applied for the position, Dosch would like to say thanks for your time and enthusiasm. |
| 2nd March 06- John Tunstall, who organizes the very successful Wednesday night do at the Birley Hotel, is starting a new bash on Thursdays to be held at 'The Milestone' Crystal, Peaks. We're there for (what I think is) the opening night on Thurs 30th March. See ya there ! |
10th Jan 06 - Below is an extract from the 'Rock Of The North' review of our record - Money to Burn. To see the full review go here. This is a very enjoyable and lively CD in the old fashioned rock and roll, rhythm and blues style. The band is packed with talent and they have managed to bring a live and exciting feel to the recording. We recommend you play it with the volume on the high side, it’s great. To see the full review go here. |
| My cousin has entered this year's Miss Sheffield Competition. You can vote for her here |
| 29th Oct 05 - Glad to report that Darren and his family arrived home safely from Mexico,
where they had been caught up in the hurricane. They spent a terrible few
days holed up in a shelter, with little in the way of basic needs, while
they waited to be evacuated. Johnny E Cash stepped in to cover for him, alongside the old faithful Dave Bickley on drums, at the White Lion gig, which went very well. As usual thanks to all those who turned up to see us. Next month should see us back on track with Phil on drums for his first Dosch gig which is in Mexborough. |
| 27th Sept 05 - Well
we've finally found our drummer. Last night, Big Phil Gilbert agreed to
join us and we're getting straight down to some rehearsals. Hopefully
we'll be back at it soon, but in the meantime, Dave Bickley is still on
standby for the odd last minute booking. Many thanks to him. To all the drummers who came for a try out, we thank you for your time and enthusiasm. |
| 5th Sept 05 - My brother
Simon Hinkler has just released his new album Lose
The Faith 4th Sept 05 - The Colne gig went really well for us, loads of people in, and a great response. I went back up next day and spent some time with a couple of pals from Leeds. Got round a few venues and caught some bands, notably 'The Chicago Thieves' from down south. These guys kick ass. |
DRUMMER Not WANTED any more Good news & Bad news. Richard's
other band, Red Shed,
will be touring later in the year, so he's off to pursue his ambition
of being fully pro. He's still with us for the time being, but we're
now looking for a replacement so if you fancy the job or know of anyone

Jam. Well done to the organisers
